Ephesians 5:25-28 (ESV) 25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. 28 In the same way, husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
1 Peter 3:7 (ESV) 7 Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
Proverbs 27:17 (ESV) Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.
Ephesians 6:4 (ESV) 4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
A Church will never grow to spiritual maturity if the men in the church are not growing spiritually. As those whom God has called to provide sacrificial, servant leadership in their homes and church, it’s crucial that the men of our church are equipped to live faithfully to Christ. At North Shore, we don’t simply have an event-based men’s ministry. At the heart of our Men’s Ministry is providing our men with the opportunity to enter into a mentoring ministry with spiritually-seeking men. This, along with our four (4), yearly men’s events, provides opportunities for men to get to know one another and see sustained spiritual growth in their lives.

In the previous talks, we’ve been looking at important weapons in our fight against sexual sin. We said that in order to consistently resist the downward pull of lust—we must understand that the battle must be fought on the level of our desires. God has given us desires. Those desires aren’t bad. Some of those […]
Last time, we saw that one of the reasons so many men in the church perpetually live in some level of lust or sexual sin—with the misery and shame that brings, is because they aren’t fighting where the battle is pitched—on the front our desires. Now, we want to talk about another leading reason men […]
The topic for our retreat has been billed as “Sexual Purity.” I wanted to teach on this topic even though we did it two years ago for a few reasons. First, there is no other sin that men more universally struggle with. I don’t know if I’ve ever met a man who told me, “You […]
One of the great biblical truths that was recovered in the Protestant Reformation is that, in order to be saved from sin or, in our case, in order to be set free from sin, the Law of God and what it says about our sin must first do its powerful work, by God’s grace to […]
Something special happens when men get together. The stereotype is that men are more solitary creatures and don’t need much fellowship. Nothing could be further from what the Scripture teaches! One of the best ways for men to bond is through a men’s retreat. This is a weekend filled with teaching and eating and recreating–men […]

Time spent at a beautiful facility on the lake shore with other men who are hungry for time way, fellowship, upbuilding from God’s Word, good food and fun—what could be more refreshing? Whether you are new or more established at North […]
